The Public Works Division Operates the Adult Mosquito Control Program
Public Works uses an adulticide application that targets adult mosquitoes, not the mosquito larva. The application is applied by fogging from our mosquito spray truck. Fogging is conducted at dusk or predawn hours for the best results. Fogging can not be done when winds of 10mph or greater exist or under rainy conditions, since it becomes ineffective.
Public Works does not treat standing water, canals, ditches, lakes or streams for mosquito larvae. Palm Beach Mosquito Control Division does have a mosquito larvae eradication program. We stay in contact with Palm Beach County Mosquito Control Division to coordinate our efforts and to obtain specified support and help when needed.
