Records/Archives Manager, Town of Jupiter

The mission of the Town of Jupiter Records Repository (“the Archives”) is to catalogue Town records that highlight the political, social, and cultural history of Jupiter. Robin is a Certified Records Manager with a BA in History and an interest in genealogy. Robin hopes to use accepted Records Management and Archival practices to continue to expand the Archives, so these historical documents are readily available to family history researchers, local students and historians who want to learn more about the Town’s colorful history from the 1920’s to today.

Director - Information Systems, Town of Jupiter

 Melinda has been Jupiter's I.S. Director for 15 years and a Palm Beach County resident since 1980. She serves on a variety of Town committees and projects, including coordinating the Town's Hurricane Emergency Planning. She holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional. In addition to her interest in Jupiter's history, she also volunteers time to work with other community groups and their web sites.  Melinda Miller - Director Information Systems

Lynn Lasseter Drake - Email

Historical Researcher and Genealogist

Historical Researcher and Genealogist, Lynn has specialized in Jupiter and SE Florida pioneer families for over 20 years. Her current projects include documenting the Bahamian/Conch families that settled early Riviera Beach and the history of Hobe Sound. She also writes a monthly history column called “Our Heritage Revisited” for The Beacon, serving the north county area. A Volunteer Genealogist and Lineage Researcher for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, she helps applicants with membership into DAR and other lineage societies. Lynn has co-authored two pictorial histories published by Arcadia, Images of America Series: “Jupiter” with William Carlin White in 2003 and “West Palm Beach 1893-1950” with Richard A. Marconi with the Historical Society of Palm Beach County in 2006. She is currently the Archivist & Research Specialist at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum Archives & Research Library, run by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society.

Past Committee member

 Mayor of Jupiter in the early 1970's, Carlin has authored two books about Jupiter history, History of the Carlin House and History of the Jupiter Wireless Telegraph Station, and co-authored a pictorial history of Jupiter called Jupiter, Images of America with Lynn Lasseter Drake. Carlin is the grandson of Captain Charles R. Carlin, who was one of the original settlers of Jupiter and the man for whom Carlin Park is named.  W. Carlin White - Pioneer resident

Richard Procyk -Email 

Archaeological Researcher 

 A board member of the Archaeological Society of the Miami Museum of Science, also a member of the Miami Institute of Maya Studies (1968/1984). Worked in the field with professional archaeologist until moving to Jupiter, Florida in 1985.  As an avocational archaeologist, Richard spent the last 17 years in the historic period searching for the Battle of Loxahatchee site and Major William Lauderdale's Tennessee Volunteer encampment.  Richard's book "Guns Across the Loxahatchee" is a record of that work. Currently (8 1/2 years) serving on the Palm Beach County Historic Resources Review Board, which oversees Historic Preservation for Palm Beach County. On the Board of the Loxahatchee River Historical Society formerly known as the Florida History Center & Museum in Jupiter and alos on the Board of the Archaeological and Historical Conservancy, Inc, a non-profit organization that works to protect archaeological and historic sites. Richard is an active member of the Florida Historical Society, the Seminole Wars Historic Foundation, the Southeast Florida Archaeological Society, the Town of Jupiter's History Website Committee, and a liason with Jupiter's Historic Review Board. As an advocate for this history, Richard Procyk has lectured at museums, schools, and universities; and was on the faculty of Palm Beach Community College for three years teaching Florida history, specializing in the Seminole Wars. Richard also taught Florida history at Jupiter High School for two years.

History Website Author

 Retired from Law Enforcement after 31 total years of dedicated service (28 years with Jupiter PD), King is the current web author for the Jupiter History Web Site. King currently works for Information Systems and holds a B.S. degree in Human Resource Development in Criminal Justice. He also has an interest with Jupiter's local History. King serves on the Technical Training Committee, Purchasing Committee, Professionals Committee, Web Author Committee and the History Web Committee. King is a past Eagle Scout recipient who is also active with the Boy Scouts of America and has served as a past Committee Chairperson, Scoutmaster and is the current Scoutmaster for Troop-701 of Juno Beach, Florida. King Wekenmann also served as the past Executive Advisor for Post 712 from 1975 until 1987. Post 712 was also known as the Jupiter Police Cadets. King has also served as a past instructor for HMH Security in both basics and Firearms. King has also served as a past adjunct professor teaching Law Enforcement and Security classes at the PBCC. King is a certified BLS trainer with American Heart Association and is an intructor for C.E.R.T. (Community Emergency Response Team). King currently works as an Administrative Specialist with the Town of Jupiters Information Systems Department.  King Wekenmann - Information Systems Department
