The lagoons, commonly called the Indian River,
make a continuous stretch of water scenery for
more than 250 miles.

Jupiter Inlet is the southern entrance from the sea.
It is guarded by a light of the first class, very
distinctive among the Atlantic coast-lights, and
carries a U. S. weather bureau and wireless station.
