Information about the Family Tree of the Tindall Family was developed as part of ongoing research by Lynn Lasseter Pickett from public sources believed to be accurate. Corrections and additions are welcomed.

Descendants of Alexander Tindall

Generation No. 1

  • 1. Alexander1 Tindall was born in England. He married unknown.
    • Notes for Alexander Tindall: As a young man, Alexander studied medicine in England. When it got to the point where he had to dissect animals etc., he decided doctoring wasn't for him. He left England and came to Florida, where he became an itinerant preacher, going by horseback to different localities preaching.
    • He married the daughter of an Indian Chief, name unknown. They made their home in Narcoosi, a town near Kissimmee, FL.They had a large family.

      • + 2 i. George W.2 Tindall, born March 1850 in GA; died May 1924.

Generation No. 2

  • 2. George W.2 Tindall (Alexander1) was born March 1850 in GA, and died May 1924. He married Mary Victoria Pilcher 1872. She was born March 1849 in Meigs, GA, and died March 1933.
    • Notes for George W. Tindall: George was a hunter in the Everglades for many years before coming to Jupiter. He built the "Tindall House" in 1892 on property near Pennock Plantation on Palm Point. It was sold to Lloyd Minear in the 1920's and donated to the Florida History Center & Museum in 1995. In the 1900 Census of Dade Co, FL, Lake Worth Precinct #2, it showed George, his wife and seven children and said they had been married 28 years. His occupation was listed as gardener.
    • All of his children appear on the 1896 Dade Co. School Census in Precinct #15, West Jupiter. His last two children, Lillian & Laurence, were born in FL in 1888 and 1890 respectively. They moved from GA to FL about 1886-1888. It is said that George was the son of a British preacher and an Indian Chieftain's daughter. He prospered in GA as a farmer when his health started to fail. He decided to move to a warmer climate. According to the November 24, 1894 issue of The Gazetteer, Mr. Tyndall [sic] of Jupiter was bitten on the leg by a rattlesnake.

    • Notes for Mary Victoria Pilcher: Mrs. Tyndall became paralyzed shortly after coming to Jupiter. They had a fine family of boys and girls.

        • Marriage Notes for Ella Tindall and Claud Patterson: Claud from WPB and Ella fro Jupiter, they were married by Samuel S. Gibson, MG. Witnesses were A. Anthony and J.O. Cheatham.
      • + 7 v. Gertrude Tindall, born October 1881 in GA; died November 1974 in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Co, FL. 8 vi. Taylor Tindall, born October 1883 in GA. He married May Boatwright 22 January 1902 in West Palm Beach, Dade Co, FL.
      • + 9 vii. Mary "Mamie" Tindall, born January 1886 in GA.
      • + 10 viii. Lillian Tindall, born January 1888 in FL.
      • 11 ix. Laurence Tindall, born August 1890 in FL.
      • 12 x. Young Tindall, born Aft. 1890.

  • 3. James B.3 Tindall (George W.2, Alexander1) was born 1873 in FL1. He married Annie 19041. She was born 1887 in FL1.

    • 13 i. Emery4 Tindall, born 1907 in FL1.
    • 5. Stella3 Tindall (George W.2, Alexander1) was born November 1879 in GA. She married Emanuel Kuschel 16 April 1900 in West Palm Beach, Dade Co, FL2. He died December 1938.
      • Notes for Emanuel Kuschel: Name spelled Kerschel on marriage record. Burial: 05 December 1938, Woodlawn Cemetery, West Palm Beach, FL

She married Frederick M. Brannan 09 April 1901 in West Palm Beach, Dade Co, FL3. He was born 20 April 1878 in FL3, and died July 1967 in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Co, FL.

Coleman 24 February 1907 in Neptune (West Jupiter), Dade Co, FL5. He died Bef. 1910.
        • Notes for E. L. Winters: Came to Jupiter in 1907 and worked for Frank Bowers for 5 years. He was a widower with three children. He married again in 1909 but lost his second wife very shortly. In 1912 he married Mrs. Mamie Tyndall Coleman, who had a little girl. They moved to Hobe Sound by 1918.
