Jupiter Depot

The Jupiter Depot is featured in the following Avis Rent-a-Car ads. The ads were published in 1960 and featured some of our locals. Jupiter resident Lige Mayo (father of Jupiter's first Police Chief Glynn Mayo) can be seen with his hands in air. Beau Mayo is on the horse to his right. The Mayo kids are also pictured below. Mike Mayo is on horseback between Lige and Beau. Brad Mayo is sitting on the back trunk lid of the car (left) with his cousin Debbie Anne Mayo (right).

The Jupiter Depot was located on the east side of the FEC railroad tracks, just north of Indiantown Rd. near Old Jupiter Beach Rd. The Depot building was later moved to Tequesta (where it remains today) and used as part of a private residence.
